Western Pennsylvania Golden Gloves Show

WPAL and Golden Gloves have coexisted for 35+ years. WPAL is responsible for the WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA GOLDEN GLOVES TOURNAMENT. The collaboration continues to benefit both organizations in numerous ways. Together they have raised awareness and participation in the sport of boxing along with strengthening their Mission Statements. Their fundraising efforts has provided for the longevity of both organizations.

For the first time, Gyms and Promotors have the opportunity to submit a proposal to produce and host one of The Western Pennsylvania 2023 Golden Gloves Shows. There are four show dates available.

• March 25, 2023

Producing a Western Pennsylvania Golden Gloves Show requires months of extensive planning and preparation as well as financial responsibilities, strong communication and event management skills.

You will be required to address 5 metrics in your proposal:

• BOXING ACUMEN​​​​

  • USA Boxing Compliant, Knowledge of Western Pennsylvania Golden Gloves Policies and Procedures, Involvement in the Boxing Community, Boxer Recruitment & Retention​

• VE NUE

  • A Suitable Location, Solid Volunteer Base and Event Staff​

  • Technical Requirements

  • Food & Beverage

​

• FISCAL MANAGMENT

  • Ability to Cover $3000 Fees​ at Time of Acceptance

    • Sanction Fee - $405 (USA Boxing)

    • License Fee - $2000 (PA Golden Gloves, Dan Mullarkey, President)

    • Awards, Uniforms, Posters - $595 (Western Pennsylvania Golden Gloves)

  • Produce a Show Budget Outlining Income & Expenses

  • Fund Raising Abilities

  • Securing Sponsorships

  • Advertising Opportunities
